This is how I started my weekend! (I really need to stop using my phone to take photo’s, it is rubbish!) A healthy chocolate milkshake, no added sugar, dairy free, full of natural goodness! The dates give it all the sweetness you need, the raw cacao is healthy and tasty and well worth purchasing if you are going dairy free or just want to make healthy chocolate goodies, kale is jam packed with nutritional benefits and this is a great way to get your daily dose of greens and the banana and oats are slow releasing energy foods, making a perfect breakfast.
1 x banana (fresh or frozen)
Handful fresh washed kale (you could also try spinach or a mix of both)
Almond milk or alternative milk (about 300ml) or you can use half milk half water
1 teaspoon natural vanilla essence
1 tablespoon raw cacao powder (or dairy free cocoa powder)
3 x pitted dates
A few ice cubes
Handful of oats (optional)
Handful cashew nuts (optional)
Blend all the ingredients together and enjoy!
